History

EMO-TRANS GmbH was founded in Stuttgart in 1965 by Eckart Moltmann and dealt primarily with international air freight imports and exports. By consequently expanding our services, a worldwide operating transport organization developed from the Stuttgart start-up, which is represented by company-owned branches and exclusive partners. Our main activities consist of the mediation of modern transport and logistic services of any kind in the international air and sea freight business.

In October 2001, founder and majority shareholder, Eckart Moltmann retired from active business life. A personal successor was not available. Thanks to a management buy-out (MBO), the company was handed over to the management, which had operated successfully since 1999. This solution was preferred to a more lucrative sale to a third-party company, as securing the continuation of his life’s work was top priority for Eckart Moltmann.

The partner companies of EMO-TRANS in Australia, Canada and the United States, in which Eckart Moltmann also held large shares, successfully adopted this concept of transferring ownership to their respective management personnel in 2001.

The company’s  50-year anniversary was celebrated with the founder, customers and partners in Filderstadt on September 9, 2015.
